Privacy Policy

MobileVerse (“we”, “us”) makes Pedreaux, a mobile card game, and runs this website, https://www.mobile-verse.com. This policy covers Pedreaux and the website. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email kurt@mobile-verse.com and we will delete it.

Pedreaux

Pedreaux is a 4-player card game. You sign in with an email account.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address, your password (we store only a scrambled form of it that we cannot read back), your display name, your avatar choice, and the time the account was created.
  • Profile photo (optional): if you choose your own photo as your avatar, the photo is sent to our server and checked by OpenAI’s image moderation service before it is accepted. An approved photo is stored on our server and shown to other players as your avatar.
  • Game results: wins, losses, games played, and best-of-3 series results tied to your account. Other players can see your display name, avatar, wins and games played on the High Scores board, and can find you by your display name when they add friends.
  • Friends: your friend list, friend requests, and table invites you send or receive. Table invites expire after 2 hours.
  • Table chat: chat in a game is limited to a fixed list of phrases. There is no free-text chat.
  • Push notification tokens: if you allow notifications, we store a push token for your device so we can send table invites, friend requests, and “your turn” alerts. You can turn each kind off in Settings, or turn notifications off in your phone settings. The app also tells our server whether it is open, so we do not send a notification while you are looking at the game. Notifications are delivered through Expo’s push service and Apple’s or Google’s notification services.
  • Purchases: Premium is bought through Apple or Google (see Subscriptions below). We store your plan, its expiry date, whether it renews, and the store’s transaction identifiers for it. We never receive your payment card number.
  • Technical logs: our server keeps short-lived operating logs, such as your account ID, connection timing and the region you connected from, to fix connection problems. Our host also sees your IP address when you connect.

Bot learning data (anonymous)

To tune the computer players (bots), the server records anonymous, coarse summaries of what human players bid and play: a rough hand shape (for example, how many trumps), the situation, and the choice made. These summaries contain no names, no email addresses, no account IDs, and no actual cards. They carry only an internal game ID, and they are not linked to your account. We keep only the most recent 600 of them. The same kind of summary from practice games stays on your own device.

Bot habit profile (limited accounts only)

For accounts where it has been switched on, we also keep a habit profile on our server to help the bots play better with or against that person. It is a set of counts about bidding and play tendencies, such as how often the player bids or passes, which trump they name, how they lead, and whether they feed their partner. It holds no cards and no chat. Today it is switched on only for the developer’s own account. Email kurt@mobile-verse.com and we will delete a habit profile.

Why we use it

  • To create and keep your account, let you sign in, and show your name and avatar to other players.
  • To run matches, keep scores and high scores, and run friends and invites.
  • To send the notifications you allow.
  • To send you a password reset code.
  • To honor Premium and check that a subscription is active.
  • To tune the bots.
  • To show and measure ads for free players (non-personalized), and prevent ad fraud.
  • To provide support, prevent abuse, and meet legal or store requirements.

Email

We use your email address to sign you in. If you ask to reset your password, we email a one-time reset code through Resend, our email delivery provider. The code expires after 1 hour. We use Resend only for these reset codes.

Subscriptions and purchases

Premium can be bought through Apple App Store or Google Play, or with Pedreaux gold in the app. For store purchases, payment, renewal and receipts are handled by Apple or Google. Our server checks with Apple or Google, and receives their subscription notifications, to confirm whether your subscription is active, and then turns Premium on or off. Gold is kept on your device. Spending it on Premium is recorded on your account. You cancel a store subscription in the App Store or Google Play. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel it.

Ads

Pedreaux is free to play with ads. Free players may see full-screen (interstitial) ads, for example when joining a Public Table or starting a rematch, and can choose to watch a rewarded video ad to earn in-game gold. Ads are served by Unity Ads (Unity Technologies). Pedreaux does not ask for permission to track you and does not use Apple’s App Tracking Transparency, so on iOS the advertising identifier (IDFA) is not available to Unity, and the app tells Unity to show non-personalized (contextual) ads only. To show ads, measure how ads perform (on iOS through Apple’s SKAdNetwork, which does not identify you) and prevent fraud, Unity Ads may collect and use device information (such as model, operating system and language), your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, ad interaction data, and on Android the advertising ID (GAID). On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. Premium removes ads. Pedreaux is not directed to children under 13, and we do not show ads to, or collect ad data from, children under 13.

Who we share it with

  • Apple and Google, to process purchases, check subscriptions, and deliver notifications.
  • Expo, which delivers push notifications.
  • Resend, which sends password reset emails.
  • OpenAI, which checks profile photos you upload, if you upload one.
  • Fly.io, which hosts our game server in the United States.
  • Unity Ads (Unity Technologies), which shows ads to free players and may receive the device information and identifiers described in Ads above.
  • Bluehost and Cloudflare, which host and deliver this website.
  • We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with data brokers.

How long we keep it

  • Account data is kept while the account is active.
  • When you delete your account in the app, we delete the account (email, password, display name, avatar choice, results and Premium record), your sign-in sessions, your friends, requests and invites, and your push tokens and notification settings.
  • An uploaded profile photo file and a bot habit profile are not removed automatically when you delete your account. Email kurt@mobile-verse.com and we will delete them.
  • The anonymous bot learning summaries are not linked to you, so they cannot be removed by account. They roll over as newer ones replace the oldest.
  • We may keep a limited record of purchases and messages that we must retain for tax, fraud, dispute, or legal reasons, and only as long as those reasons require.
  • Password reset codes expire after 1 hour.

This website

If you use Get in Touch or email us, we keep the name, email and message you send so we can reply. The site is hosted on Bluehost and delivered through Cloudflare. Those providers may process your IP address and similar technical data to serve the pages and block abuse. We do not use this website to run the in-app ad system.

Your choices

  • Delete your account in the app (Settings, then Manage Account), or email kurt@mobile-verse.com. See https://www.mobile-verse.com/account-deletion/
  • Turn push notifications off, or switch each kind off, in Settings or in your phone settings.
  • Ask us to delete your profile photo or bot habit profile by emailing kurt@mobile-verse.com.
  • Limit ad data: Pedreaux shows only non-personalized ads and never asks to track you on iOS. On Android, reset or delete your advertising ID in device settings. Premium removes ads.
  • Cancel a subscription in the App Store or Google Play.
